If you are a first-time college student who enrolled in a public college or university in Fall 2015 or later, you are required to successfully complete at least one course in each of the following areas to earn your associate or bachelor's degree.

- English Composition (ENC X101) or an English course that has this course as a direct prerequisite.
math
- College Algebra (MAC X105)
- Calculus I (MAC X311)
- Liberal Arts Mathematics I (MGF X106)
- Liberal Arts Mathematics I (MGF X107)
- Statistical Methods (STA X023)
- A math course that has one of the courses above as a direct prerequisite.
If you are a student entering a Florida College System institution in the 2024-25 academic year or later, you are required to complete at least one of the following:
- College Algebra (MAC X105)
- Calculus I (MAC X311)
- Mathematical Thinking (MGF X130)
- Statistical Methods (STA X023)
- A math course that has one of the courses above as a direct prerequisite.
Please note: To avoid excess credit hours, successful completion of MGF X106 and X107 prior to the 2024-25 academic year can be used to satisfy the mathematics core in lieu of MGF X130.
